Last game of the season and with 2nd spot already we wanted to finish on a high.
It was lovely warm day and perfect for the game but unfortunately we only had 9 players so no subs ...
This was a game of evenly matched sides that was an end to end game and a good watch .
Desford started better of the sides and had a number of corners , many times going forward we played good passes in the build up the midfield of Tia, Abi and Kiane combined well giving Ellie and Jamie chances to push forward but it felt like both defences always got the last tackle in.
Danika , Lucy and Katie defended very well all game , 2nd half we had our better chances Ellie again having the pick of chances but still snatches at chances when a calm head would get the result , desford girls were getting tired in the heat and with no subs we had to dig deep , Ellie got our goal from a free kick with a dipping shot that squeezed under the keepers legs , nothing more that Ellie deserved , Chloe pulled of 2 great saves , firstly an Asfordby girl hit a shot from 20 yards going top corner but she pushed round the post and from the corner a scramble resulted in a shot goal bound but she got down and pushed round the post.
We held on last 10 minutes but a huge well done to all of the girls for the effort and commitment on a warm morning .
Was a really good game to watch and to finish the season on a high .
