On what was a poor pitch both teams deserved the draw.
The pitch was not the best as the grass was very long in places and it did effect the flow of the game.
I had to make changes with goal keeper Chloe out for a month with a broken nose so Abi stepped into goal for us.
the first half was an even end to end game , Desford did not take chances , Rugby did !!
Rugby had a very good player up front and she got 2 goals in the first half and to be fair she could and should have had a couple more , Ellie missed chances which is not like her , trying to rip the net out instead of composure and placing the shot .
we were missing Abi`s energy so at half time Lucy went into goal and straight away we got the goal , Ellie getting us off to a good start of 2nd half , Desford were a different team pushing forward and looking tighter at the back , another corner and Katie scored with a great header , she is the most confident at heading the ball so we asked to go up and she obliged with a goal , another great through ball and ellie put us ahead , Rugby had not threatened really in the second half as there stand out player was dealt with by our Defence.
With 5 minutes to go Rugby get a free kick 20 yards out and there number 9 smashes home to get her hat-trick .

It was a fair result and it was hard work for both teams on a horrible surface , well done girls.
