Desford girls pulled a tough draw in the cup away at Fc Aztec in Northamptonshire.

Our opponents are doing well in the league above us and i told the girls today was going to be a real test for them and so it was.

Aztec were strong through the spine of team and 2 players stood out with real quality , good touch , pass and powerful in the shot , there stand out player was taking us on single handed and our defence really struggled to cope with her maze runs and we were 3 down after 15 mins , Desford had little effect up front even with elli chasing and working so hard to create something .
At half time i asked Abbi to man mark there centre midfield player who was just sitting and pinging passes all over the park , for 20 minutes we worked hard , chased everything and shown no respect for opponents and we rattled them , elli scored a great goal hitting hard and low in the corner from the edge of box , Elli was ruffling a few feathers and there coach was getting more vocal and frustrated as we kept pushing , Rhianna and Danika were very strong second half and Lucy had her best game for desford , with only 1 sub and a couple of girls getting knocks in the game and struggling on Aztec got 3 goals in the last 5 minutes to give the result a wrong impression , Desford played really well second half and proud of there efforts against a very good side on a very heavy pitch.
